Natural warmth from the Mongolian steppe
Our camel wool products come from the Khuvchiin Tsagaan Sort herders' cooperative in the south-western Mongolian Gobi Desert. Their way of life is based on a deep understanding of animals, climate and grazing landscapes – knowledge that they have preserved and developed over centuries. The International Takhi Group (ITG) has been supporting the herders' cooperative since its foundation in 2022.
The herders harvest the valuable camel wool with great care and traditional knowledge. It is gently processed without chemical additives and knitted into soft, durable textiles – hand-sheared, fairly traded and sustainably produced.
The herders' cooperative commissions local entrepreneurs to process the raw wool. This ensures that the added value remains in the country, in Mongolia.
Sustainable pasture use – nature conservation in action
The cooperative's camels graze freely across vast areas and follow the natural rhythms of the seasons. This mobile grazing practice protects the grasslands, allows vegetation to recover and keeps the fragile ecosystems of the Gobi in balance.
Fair. Sustainable. Direct.
The sale of these products supports herding families in preserving their traditional knowledge and securing their income independently and ecologically. Every hat, every sweater and every blanket tells a story of craftsmanship, community and respect for nature.
With every camel wool product, you are choosing genuine craftsmanship, fair partnership and the protection of Mongolia's pasturelands:
Soft as the desert and the wind
Camel wool is a true wonder of nature: breathable, temperature-regulating and wonderfully soft. It warms you when it's cold, cools you when it's hot and accompanies you throughout the year – natural, durable and unique.
